U Count 2

U Count 2 is an initiative of our community, our school, our drug court, our law enforcement, and Evangel United Methodist Church. Our purpose is to positively connect with those who are misusing and abusing substances (drugs and alcohol) to bring about productive/useful lives, transform hearts, and most especially, grow the common good of the Beecher City area. We also purpose to reduce the misuse and abuse of those harmful substances.  Click here to learn more...

Health Kits

Health KitsHelp us partner with UMCOR to provide health kits to those dealing with emergencies. These kits will be used for disasters or as learning tools in literacy, nutrition, and cooking classes. Our goal is to donate 150 kits before the end of the year.

For information on how you can help provide health kits to those in need, see the table in the back of the sanctuary or click here for a list of detailed instructions.

Fight Ebola

Fight EbolaYour gifts to the Ebola Response are providing education, protective equipment, and other supplies in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Cote d'Ivoire. Give by designating a special check in the next Sunday offering (write "Ebola" in the memo), and help us make a difference for those suffering from this disease.

Shumway Food Pantry

Food PantryThe Shumway Food Pantry helps feed families in need around the Effingham area.  To donate food and paper products, place them in the plastic bin in the foyer of the church. Be sure your food is not out of date.

School Supplies

School SuppliesIn cooperation with UMCOR and our local school district, we are collecting supplies for children in need. While so many of us take for granted things like pencils, paper, and crayons for our children, many more go without.  Help bless the next generation with the education and opportunities they deserve by giving toward this ministry today.  Click here for a detailed list of needed materials.

Angel Tree Ministry

Angel TreeSince 2009, we have partnered with Angel Tree, a ministry that connects parents in prison with their children through the delivery of Christmas gifts. We have been matched with one local family that has four children. Through donations from our congregation, we are able to purchase and deliver gifts to these children during the  Christmas holiday with a note from the incarcerated parent. This powerful ministry allows parents to remain in contact with their children. It lets their children know that, even though their parent isn't with them, they still love and care about them. Help make a difference in these children's lives, and give today.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas ChildFor over ten years, members of our congregation have been packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Even our Wednesday night Kidz Club gets involved.  Each year, we show God's love by sharing a few small things with someone who has very little and may never have received a gift before. Stay tuned for more information about how you can be a blessing to children in need, or click below to give a donation to this world-changing ministry today.

F.I.S.H. / Catholic Charities

F.I.S.H.Your donations of toys, games, books, clothing, and food help to stock the Christmas Store in November and the first week of December, giving low-income families the opportunity to give and receive during the holidays.
